Where they are

from your notes added from the call

Rough notes, “series B closed?? 32M” and “40 → 120 seats by march”, become “Series B closed: $32M” (footnote 1), an added line “Led by Northstar, two weeks ago” (footnote 1), and “Seats grow from 40 to about 120 by March”, footnote 2, which cites Dana at 00:26: “Support goes from 40 people to about 110 by March. With ops and success, call it 120 seats.”

Honest answers.

  • Where do my meetings live?

On this device, in your browser. There's no account and no copy on a server. Export to Markdown, or share a read-only link that carries the note inside it.

  • What stops the AI making things up?

Receipts. Every line it adds must cite the transcript, and the server checks each citation. Lines that can't point to a source are dropped before you see them.

  • What's free?

Everything, with your own OpenAI key (about 10¢ a meeting). Without one, the sample call works in full, plus five enhancements a day on us. Notes, search and export never need a key.

  • What gets sent where?

Your mic is transcribed by the browser (Chrome uses Google's speech service). Tab audio and Enhance go to OpenAI. Nothing is stored on a server.

  • Can it hear the Zoom desktop app?

No. A web page can't hear other apps. Join from the web client (Meet, Zoom or Teams) and share that tab's audio when Footnote asks.

  • Which browsers work?

Chrome and Edge on a computer do everything. Safari does the mic and notes, but not tab audio. On a phone: notes and your mic.
